Techniques and Modalities

There are a range of techniques and modalities that I use.  Each session is centred upon what is best and most effective for the You in that specific moment.

Soulful Presence Counselling

Soulful presence counselling lies at the heart of Soul Centred Psychotherapy.  This is the foundation of each session.  As a therapist, coach and healing facilitator, I stay attuned and aware of the relational fields - this allows for the optimal healing relationship base.

Bilateral Stimulation and Processing

Developed and stemming from the very popular EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) technique, Bilateral Stimulation and Processing is one of the cutting edge techniques for unlocking and metabolising the distress from past traumas.  This allows the client to no longer react to situations and instead respond without a heightened emotional reaction.  This technique involves stimulation of both sides of the body - such as through use of music, thera tappers and butterfly hug tapping; whilst utilising eye movements to unlock the distress from the trauma.

Thought Matrix Chakra Counselling and Healing

This technique combines working with Chakras, using Mudras and Kinesiology to assist the metabolisation and healing of long held unwanted core  beliefs by the client.  This is a form of Energy Psychology.

Trance

A form of hypnotherapy - this is a technique using Milton H. Erikson's teachings.  Trance is utilised to bypass the Conscious mind to communicate with one's Unconscious mind in order to allows new learnings to take place, so that the client is able to respond to previous situations with new skills and approaches.

Therapeutic Ritual

" Rituals may well be the oldest form of therapy, and it invites us to enter the archaic, magical realms of experience in an embodied way.  Therapeutic Ritual is an intense, experiential process allowing us to recreate and transform how we experience ourselves and the world. "

Focussing and Somatic Healing

Our bodies hold stress, trauma, unresolved emotions, and a multitude of experiences.  In essence our bodies have memory.  Through the use of Focussing, somatic issues are able to be recognised and brought forth to process and reach healing.  This is interwoven throughout the psychotherapeutic process.

Working with Archetypes

" In archetypal psychology, the personal layers, both conscious and unconscious, are understood as reflections of an archetypal reality in the collective unconscious.  These are universal themes, images, and relational patterns, that can be seen as challenges or developmental opportunities that are central to every human life."

Working with Parts, Schemas and Complexes

There are aspects of ourselves that can almost have their own identity.  What this allows then is that one can develop relationship with these aspects in order to process and heal any distress, upset or pain being held by those aspects of ourselves so that they can be healthfully integrated into our whole selves.

Relaxation

Guided processes of relaxation and learning to access states of calm, peace and relaxation.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is simply when you bring your awareness to what you are experiencing - in other words, you becoming an observer to your own internal processes.  This is a skill that the you will develop throughout each session.  The benefits of both 'being mindful' and mindfulness meditation is many fold.

Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP)

NLP is an approach that focuses on the connection between neurological processes, language, and behavioral patterns. It involves 'reprogramming' thoughts and language patterns to create positive shifts in behaviors, communication, self-awareness, resilience, focus, and motivation.  This is different to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).  NLP is used within Coaching Sessions.
